Creating human like features in illustrator

This is a flyer that I have been working on for about a week now. I know that most of the people that see this are just people in my class. So I am going to post it as I finish it, with a tutorial on how to do something similar that I am doing in the picture. If you would like to see something specific about the flyer, than let me know and I will post a tutorial specifically on that portion and show a real life example of what I did. Anyways, my flyer is not finished. But here it is. The basic idea of the flyer was for my grandmothers profession. She is a cosmetologist  so I am doing something for her so a couple of people can get some money off on manicures and pedicures. This flyer is still in affect so feel free to give her a call if you are interested in what she is advertising.

This flyer was completely done in Adobe Illlustrator CS6. Everything I have created in the face of the Ol' Lady was done with the pen tool. Every shape and individual color you are seeing is an individual shape.

This specific tutorial help you understand how I made the eyes, eyelashes, retinas, and iris of the eyes. When I made the flyer, I didn't use any tutorials at all. But I feel as though the tutorials are extremely helpful for understanding exactly how the eyes were created!!

This is what my flyer looks like so far.... As the weeks continue, I will post different tutorials on how I did certain things. I also created a custom brush for the Ol' Lady's hair and for her lashes.... And that tutorial is also shown above. 

**NOTE: Normally, you want to save your file as a .pdf when you are done with it, or even while you are working with it just to show it to others who don't have illustrator, but for some reason my computer wont let me save it as a .pdf. So I saved it as a .jpg for now to show the progress. 

When she is done, she will be filling her nails, and there will also be my grandmothers information on the flyer as well.
